16 fans will play a live-streamed two-day knockout tournament as part of Gamers Without Borders

– AfterAlNassr’s victory in the eMBS League Challenge final, a tournament which paired professional footballers and FIFA pros together, the Saudi Professional League (SPL) is back on the virtual screens with the SPL Fans’ eCup, a FIFA20 competition for 16 SPL club fans to face off for the title.
SPL clubs will each choose one lucky fan to represent them in the SPL Fans’ eCup from May 20-21 in a PS4 FIFA20 knockout tournament in thrilling match-ups between fans.
Launched as part of $10million charity esports event Gamers Without Borders, the SPL Fans’ eCup will stream live on Twitch and YouTube–with a dedicated studio featuring professional FIFA gamers as analysts and commentators alongside SPL presenters tobringback the feel of real football again.
The tournament will start with a round of 16 knockout stage on its first day, while the second day will host the quarterfinals all the way to an unmissable final match which will determine which club will bring bragging rights to their clubs’ fan base.
The SPL action returns following GWB’s thrilling eMBS League Challenge last week, which drew a streaming audience of more than 235,000 football and gaming fans from across the world. AlNassr were crowned champions after an action-packed six-days of group and knockout stage matches set up a Riyadh Derby final, where they triumphed over their cross-city rivals AlHilal3-2 on aggregate in a nail-biting encounter.
Gamers Without Borders is uniting the global gaming community over seven weeks. It is open to all levels of gamers, with its elite level players competing for a share of a $10million prize fund that will be donated to key international charities leading the fight against COVID-19.
